Happy Birthday to my favorite pup!

Yesterday was my Lilly Bean's first birthday and to celebrate, I made some homemade Frosty Paws (Ice cream for dogs).  It is so easy to do!  In my food processor I added:

32 oz of plain yogurt (I used organic.  Nothing but the best for my pooch!)
1 ripe banana
2 Tablespoons of natural peanut butter
2 Tablespoons of honey

I zapped it all until smooth and then distributed it among small containers to toss in the freezer.  Keep an eye on your dog while he/she is eating.  Besides the fact that they will most likely be scooting it all over the house trying to get every last drop of yummy goodness, he/she may also be silently chewing on the container the ice cream is in....or maybe that is just my doggy.

  1. Woo Hoo!!! This is exciting and I'm going to try this for sure for the Yzer-man! Did you just use Tupperware containers?

    1. yes, I just used the extra small size ziplock containers....i want to say they were 8 oz? I only filled them about 1/3 of the way full though. Lilly LOVES them!

  2. I make these all the time for my pooch and she loves them. I omit the honey though. I give her one every night after dinner, and if I forget, she lets me know. :-) I bought Betty Crocker 1/2 cup containers at the $1 store. Four containers for $1.00.

  3. Has anyone tried this with Greek yogurt?

    1. I've tried it with greek yogurt. My dog loves it! Just limit the amount of yogurt you give to your pup on a weekly basis because of their sensitive digestive systems. I usually cycle the store bought frosty paws and my homemade banana peanut butter treats weekly. I reuse the frosty paws containers and fill them with peanut butter and mashed banana.

  4. Coconut milk yogurt is much easier on the digestive system

  5. My dog loves ice cream. I’ve bought the Frosty Paws but they can get expensive. I made this recipe & she loves it! I can put them in a little bigger cup than the frosty paws & it keeps her occupied when my husband & I are enjoying our ice cream. I put two bananas because I had them in my freezer. I put the the ice cream cup in a shallow bowl to keep her from pushing it all over the kitchen. I’m glad I made this!
